G7's 100M Barrel Release Is Largely an Acceleration
Crude & MarketsMost of the G7's 100 million barrel release is not new oil, according to Standard Chartered, which calls it an acceleration of the 400 million barrel plan announced in March. The IEA reported about 325 million of that already released by October 2, leaving roughly 75 million, so roughly 25 million barrels could be incremental.
